World Cup - 1966

In World Cup 1966, Brazil was eliminated in the first round and played three matches because it was manifest for the atrocious fouling on Pele by the Bulgarian and Portuguese defenders. Pele scored the first goal by a free kick in opposition to Bulgaria but because of his injury and a result of persistent fouling by the Bulgarians, he was left out for the second game in oppositi0n to Hungary. In that time Brazil lost the game. Joao Morais viciously fouled Pele in that game but he was permitted to stay on field by referee George McCabe. After this game he vowed that he would not play again in the World Cup but later a decision he would change.

World Cup - 1970

In early 1969, while Pele was called to the national team, he refused it first but then he accepted and played in six World Cup qualifying matches along with scoring six goals. 1970 World Cup in Mexico, it was to be Pele's last match. Brazil's team for the tournament featured to major changes regarding the 1966 team. Players such as Garrincha, Nilton Santos, Djalma Santo and Gilmar had already retired but the team through Pele, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Gerson, Tostao and Clodoaldo, was broadly well though-out one the greatest football teams yet.

Pele gave Brazil a 2-1 lead in the first match in opposition to Czechoslovakia but after controlling Gerson's long with his chest. Brazil won that match by 4-1. In the first half of the match in opposition to England, he almost scored by a header to be enormously saved by Gordon Banks. In the final Brazil played Italy with Pele and he scored the opener on a header over defender. After that he made assists on Jairzinho's Brazil won the match 4-1 and keeping the Jules Rimet Trophy.

Pele's last international match was on July 18, 1971 in opposition to Yugoslavia in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian team's record was 67 wins, 14 draws and 11 losses and beside won almost three World Cups. With both Pele and Garrincha, Brazil never lost any match.
