Structure Smack
On July 8, 2009, 70, 000 construction workers were supposed to be working on the new stadiums but the majority of the workers receive per month R2500 ((It is the sign code “R” of the South African currency)). The unions charge that some workers among them are disgustingly low paid. A spokesperson for the side of the National Union of Mineworkers said to the SABC that the “no work no pay” demand will go on until FIFA assesses penalties on the organizers and other unions exposedto strike into 2011 but the World Cup organizing committee downplayed the strike and beside uttered confidence that the stadiums will be ready.
